Weather Ideas for elementary students:
1. We can't see wind, but we can see the effects of it. Draw a picture of what can happen in the wind.
2. We need wind to operate windmills, kites, sailboats, to keep us cool on a hot day, and to keep the air stirred up so cold air won't settle over crops and freeze them. Can you think of other reasons why we need wind? Can you think of any time when wind is a problem?
3. Wipe the blackboard with a damp cloth in two places. Leave one alone and fan another one with a paper fan. (Or aim an electric fan at it.) Notice how wind affects evaporation.
